Increased Vaginal Discharge

Changes in Discharge

symptomsMany women discover an increase in their vaginal discharge, as pregnancy progresses. This disch

arge is called “leukorrhea” and is normal. This discharge is normally milky white, yellowish or clear and quite odorless. Leukorrhea is caused by increased blood flow to the vaginal area during pregnancy. It may become quite an annoyance to the point of making a panty liner necessary to stay comfortable.

This condition may be experienced during the first trimester, but usually closer to the second and getting worse as your due date draws closer. An increase in discharge could also be a sign of something else, such as a sexually transmitted disease (STD) or a yeast infection.
